BRITISH PRINTING INDUSTRIES FEDERATION (BPIF)

The BPIF is the business support organisation for employers in the printing, packaging and graphic communications industry . The Polestar Group became a Platinum member of the BPIF in 2002. All Polestar companies became members and are served by the BPIF’s existing network of six regional offices.

CITY & GUILDS

The Polestar Group is a registered approved centre for City & Guilds qualifications, including NVQs. Centre and scheme approval, which are applied for simultaneously, are obtained by organisations that wish to become an assessment centre and to offer City & Guilds qualifications to employees for the first time.

DATA PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION (DPA)

Polestar Wheatons and Polestar Applied Solutions represent the Group and are active associate members of the DPA. Membership of the association is an important activity to enable Polestar to develop its range of services in line with the needs of database and directory publishers.

DIRECT MARKETING ASSOCIATION (DMA)

The DMA is Europe's largest trade association in the marketing and communications sector. Polestar Direct represents the Group, having been a full member since 2001.

EUROPEAN ROTOGRAVURE ASSOCIATION (ERA)

The ERA is the leading international organisation of the gravure industry. It currently has some 130 members from the publication, packaging and decorative printing sectors, as well as associated industries such as paper and ink makers, printing and finishing equipment manufacturers and the leading cylinder engravers

The Polestar Group is a full member and was elected to the main board of the association in 2002.

WWF UK FOREST AND TRADE NETWORK

The mission of the WWF-UK Forest & Trade Network is to improve the management of the world’s production forests by using the purchasing power of UK businesses. The Polestar Group is a full member, joining the WWF 95+ Group in 2001.

PERIODICAL PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION (PPA)

The PPA is the trade body for UK magazine publishers. In October 2003, the Polestar Group become one of five strategic partners, building on its long-standing associate membership. As part of its partnership, the Group is also a member of the Association of Publishing Agencies (APA), an organisation linked to the PPA representing the interests of customer magazine and contract publishers.

The Polestar Group is participates in Digital Ad Lab UK (DAL UK), an independent, open forum for those involved in all aspects of digital workflows, as well as being on the committee for Pass4press, working with publishers, printers and repro houses on a set of digital advertising transfer standards developed by PPA.
